Here is a guideline that you should follow when concidering taking weight loss pills to make sure you are safe:
-Always consult your doctor before taking weight loss pills.
Ask about health risks.
-Follow instructions, do not overdose.
The health risks of overdosing on weight loss pills can be severe.
-While taking the pills, maintain contact with your doctor.
Describe any side-effects.
-Unless advised by your doctor, do not take any weight loss pills for
longer than a few weeks. The health risks of weight loss pills increase
with length of use.
-When buying over-the-counter weight loss medications, check with your
pharmacist that the pills do not clash with other medications. Since
certain diet pills contain similar active ingredients to (e.g. decongestants,
cough medicine), combining certain medications with weight loss pills
carries health risks of accidental overdosing.
This was just a list of things to concider that was given to me by a friend and I thought that I would pass it on. Hope that it helps. |

| Thanks for the ips. I would also add to your valuable tips that do not put your body under unnecessary pressure while doing excersies. It may turn out to be a little ugly. Do make sure that you consult your doctor. |

| Thanks for the tips. However you must undestand the risks involved in pill induced weight reductions. You may loose the health insurance cover if you are not under medical supervision and god hlep if you develop some complications. |

| Good advice. Doing these things also indicates you are being realistic about what to expect. Recognizing that diet pills aren't long term solutions and that they may have side effects shows you aren't expecting miracles. |

| Hi these forums are pretty good and it's essential to have some form of info on these pills apart from the company web pages themselves! But I felt I could add something to the discussion as a doctor myself. No doctor will recommend amphetamine based pills. The advantage of discussing it with your doctor is that they may be able to tell you if you are at higher risk of side effects compared to others. If you are planning to take them no matter what advice is given to you then tell your doctor and they will best be able to keep an eye on you. The best thing to do is check your blood pressure before and during the time you take the medication, and realise that you are taking a chance and there's no way round it. Some people will respond to these medications with significant weight loss, some people will get no result, and some people will get horrific side effects. There are no guarantees, and as long as these medications remain banned, no research will be done on improving their safety profile, and no official support will be there for people using them. You are taking a risk and it may help your weight or it may not. I'm commencing a course of thermalean and concommitant xenical (orlistat). I'll let people know how it works. |

Those are some nice guidelines to follow when thinking about taking a diet pill. I wish everyone I have known that went on diet pills would read that. In fact, that kind of thing should be pinned on the forum for general knowledge.
Good post. |
